Lately I’ve been enamored by the music of Erik Satie.
If you’ve listened to my music you might notice some traces of a minimalist influence here and there. The more I listen to Satie work, the more I desire to edit my playing… getting the most out of every note possible… and articulating as much as I can, by… playing less.
I know that sounds confusing… but that’s where I am today as an artist.
As I prepare to record my next album, “Autumn Reflections” I am hoping to capture some of what I am feeling in regard to this approach. I’ve got so much to learn… but isn’t that what life is all about?
